The opening credits of the first season includes Cariba Heine, Claire Holt, Phoebe Tonkin, and Angus McLaren. Every main character has three name clips. Cleo has two clips as a human and one clip as a mermaid under water, but Rikki and Emma have one clip as a human, one clip as a mermaid under water and one clip as a mermaid with head afloat.

Season 2

Opening credits of second season haven't changed a lot. Only Cleo has all new three name clips and the rest of cast has only one new name clip. For Rikki and Emma is new second clip as a mermaid under water and for Lewis is new first clip, where he has new haircut.

Season 3

Version 1

After Claire Holt left the show, the opening credits had to be remade. New opening credits includes Cariba Heine, Phoebe Tonkin, Angus McLaren, and new cast members Indiana Evans and Luke Mitchell. The girls have three clips and the guys have two name clips. That's the first time when a main girl (Bella) have no mermaid name clip and this is only season which has 5 characters in the opening until Angus McLaren's departure.

Version 2

After Angus McLaren left the show, he released a few seconds of opening credits, so Luke Mitchell could get one more name clip.

Theme Song

I've got a special power,
That I'm not afraid to use.
So come on this is my adventure,
And this is my fantasy,
It's all about living in the ocean being wild and free,
'Cause I'm no ordinary girl,
I'm from the deep blue underworld.
Land or sea, I've got the power if I just believe.
'Cause I'm no ordinary girl,
I'm from the deep blue underworld.
Land or sea, the world's my oyster, I'm the pearl,
No ordinary girl.
